Clean Sky at the Innovation Zone at Farnborough International Airshow
Undoubtedly one of the highlights of the European aeronautics calendar, Farnborough International Airshow is a week-long event that combines a major aeronautics exhibition with a public air show. From 14 – 18 July, the Clean Sky Joint Undertaking was delighted to have a presence in the ‘Innovation Zone’, a focal point for all the research and development needs of the industry.
The event allowed large, medium and small businesses, government trade delegations, universities, research centres and students, the general public and the media, to engage with Clean Sky to find out more about how we have been able to contribute to delivering the aircraft technologies of tomorrow as well as developing a continent-wide innovation chain.
We exhibited 13 items of hardware developed with industry leaders and SMEs with funding from the initial Clean Sky programme. These were accompanied by video and other visual material with industry representatives leading live demonstrations. In addition to demonstrating these Clean Sky success stories, part of the stand was devoted to the launch of Clean Sky 2 and information regarding the new Calls for Proposals.
