Clean Sky 2 takes off
The European Commission has today issued its innovation investment package that paves the way to the continuation of the Clean Sky Joint Technology Initiative (JTI) within the EU Horizon 2020 Framework Programme. Clean Sky 2 involves 4 bn€ of research activity within a coherent programmatic approach. The EU plans to invest 1.8 bn€ in the Clean Sky 2 Programme under Horizon 2020, building on the investment of 0.8 bn€ to date under FP7, and helping to minimise the sector’s environmental impact, and to increase its global competitiveness. Industry is committed to exceeding their matching share by bringing at least 2.2 bn. As a flagship of European aeronautical research, Clean Sky will demonstrate a strong leverage effect.
