Eco-Design annual review

30/04/2012

Eco-Design (ED) members and external experts coming from aeronautical and railway sectors met on 28th and 29th March at Dassault Aviation in Paris for the 2012 Eco-Design Review. The objective was to present the activities performed so far, in particular during 2011. It was also an opportunity to assess the mid-term progress of ED-ITD, that is now entering the demonstration phase.Among the main achievements, we can mention:

  • On-going maturation of more than 100 technologies related to materials, manufacturing process, long life structure and end-of-life management that will be demonstrated up to TRL 6 through 19 demonstrators related to Equipped Airframe and Equipment;
  • First release of the Life Cycle Assessment Data Base specifically developed for aeronautics;
  • Deployment of the Modelling Computer Platform (MCP) in support of electrical and thermal test benches;
  • Successful Preliminary Design Review of the Electrical Test Bench (COPPER Bird®), that will be followed within a few weeks by a Critical Design Review.

More details about the Eco-Design ITD will be available in the forthcoming days on the updated web site pages.
