Membership

ITD Leaders – Industrial organisations that contributed to the build-up of the Clean Sky JTI proposal. They jointly commit to perform, complete and afterwards exploit the Clean Sky programme. Each of them leads or co-leads a specific Integrated Technology Demonstrator (ITD). They all participate to the Technology Evaluator and contribute financially to the support of the Clean Sky Joint Undertaking (JU).

The European Commission – unique stakeholder representing the interests of the European Community within the Clean Sky JU sits in governance bodies with specific rights in the decision-making processes and controls the public part of funding, both for technical activities and for support of the JU Directorate.

Associates – private or public organisations having applied for and been accepted through a transparent and fair selection process as permanent members of the Clean Sky JU. They commit to perform and complete certain essential work packages in one or more ITDs for the full duration of Clean Sky. They contribute financially to the support of the JU.

Partners – private or public organisations participating for certain specific tasks over a limited period in the course of Clean Sky. They are selected following open Calls for Proposals issued by the JU. Participation of SMEs as Partners is encouraged (up to 75% funded).

Governance structure

Partners selection

Partners will be selected for participation in specific activities of the Clean Sky programme according to open and transparent competitive procedures.

Calls for Proposals (CFP) will specify selection criteria which will typically include: eligibility, relevance, technical excellence, cost and value for money, timetable, quality. According to the requirements of the ITD and the work package a one-stage or two-stage competition process may be followed.

CFPs will be proposed by each ITD Steering Committee, and reviewed by the JU staff and the European Commission. They will be broadly published by all suitable channels and media including this web site.

SME policy

The participation of Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) is encouraged in Clean Sky. Three options are open to SMEs:

  1. Membership in a cluster having the status of Associate ;
  2. Direct partnership, as Partner, after successful response to a CFP ;
  3. Provision of service or supply of products, after successful response to a Call for Tender.

The clustering option allows participation in several ITDs and over the whole duration of Clean Sky, with financial support amounting to 50% of the cost (depending on eligibility).

The participation as Partner gives access to funding up to 75% of the cost for universities and research centres, and 50% for private companies.
